What a long week! I started school on Wednesday and am finally finishing up my associates degree this semester.( At this rate I am going to be the 40-year-old college student who never gets his degree until his grandchildren are in class with him.) School aside, this week in New Jersey the weather is starting to transition into that crisp fall air during the days with chilly, cool nights are upon us. I was glad to be able to break out my vest for some very college-student inspired outfits.
To get that really collegiate styled look I combined some of my favorites to create my favorite outfit of the week! I bought this vest online from Nautica last year and its lightweight and easy to wear for these fall days. Underneath my down vest I am sporting my new favorite Oxford. Weyhill & Wharf is my favorite brand right now when it comes to button downs. This classic shirt is American-made and makes me proud to support such an awesome company. The thing I love most about this gentleman’s staple is the tie-patterned lining around the collar and down the shirt. It makes me feel like I am already dressed without having to put together a whole look.
I have never had an easy time finding pants I like, let alone love. I can honestly say that I LOVE these chinos. I have jeans and pants in my closet that cost over $200. yet my favorite pairs are all from American Eagle and all cost under $50. a pair. These khakis are the “super skinny” model from AE and they still weren't skinny enough for me around my legs…. sooo I took them to my local tailor and he tapered them to make them a perfect fit!
The piece of this looks that I think makes it very “college-prepster” is the Arnold Steiner cap. This ivy-league brand is all made in America and when I say its high quality, I mean HIGH QUALITY. I know Arnold, the founder of the brand, and he is a perfectionist about his products and ensuring that anything he puts out is the finest made product available. I will never buy another Ralph Lauren hat again. They are so flimsy, don't hold their shape and when you pick up an Arnold Steiner cap you can feel the difference in a minute!
Good Threads is an amazing company. They produce hand-stitched needlepoint belts and keychains that give employment to mothers and provide medical care to children who need it most. They sell awesome products at really reasonable prices! Please support this company and all the good they are doing!
